Set up and administer
Integrations and API
Connect VectorDesk to Power Automate and your other systems with the REST API, webhooks and approvals.
Enterprise. Manage keys, webhooks and the Power Automate connector under Administration → Integrations & API.
API keys#
Create a key for each system that connects. A key can be limited to read, write or approvals, and revoked instantly.
- Calls made with a key act as the admin who created it. If that admin leaves or stops being an admin, the key stops working.
- Keys are limited to 300 calls a minute.
- Send the key as a bearer token:
Authorization: Bearer <key>.
REST API#
The API lives at /api/v1 on your VectorDesk address. The full description is at /api/v1/openapi.json.
| Resource | What you can do |
|---|---|
tickets | List (filter by status, priority, requester email or updatedSince), create and update tickets |
tickets/{number}/comments | Read and add replies and notes |
users | Find people |
categories | List categories |
activities | Plan and update calls, meetings, visits and tasks |
approvals | Send an approval request and read the decision |
webhooks | Subscribe to events |
me | Check which key and organisation you are using |
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $VECTORDESK_KEY" \
https://<your-address>/api/v1/tickets?status=openWebhooks#
Subscribe a URL to ticket events: ticket.created, ticket.updated, ticket.commented and ticket.resolved. Each delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256 so your system can check it came from VectorDesk. Webhooks are never sent to private network addresses.
Power Automate#
- Download the VectorDesk connector file from Integrations & API.
- In Power Automate, import it as a custom connector.
- In any flow, add a VectorDesk action or trigger and paste an API key when asked for a connection.
Create and update tickets, find people, plan activities and run flows when tickets change. Your flows can send approvals to VectorDesk, for example a procurement request: the approver decides in Teams and the flow continues with the answer.
Note
Custom connectors and the HTTP Webhook step are Premium features in Power Automate.
Outlook calendars#
Planned activities can appear in the owner's Outlook calendar, with Teams links for meetings. See Calendar and activities.
